As our kids wind down their 11u season and some folks are looking around for better opportunities for their players, was curious if anyone else has noticed the lack of AAA teams in the age group?
I notice 2-3 players on many AA teams that could hang in AAA...and maybe a few players that are filling roster spots until the coach can find someone better. Quite a few AAA teams playing down in AA tournaments to boost morale after getting shelled in AAA.
What's stopping some of the better AA teams from attracting talent and moving up? Why are so many AA/AAA teams so watered down? Too many teams?
There’s plenty out there, and there’s plenty of good ones. Just seems like the natural progression is taking place, many of those kids have left for or are heading to ECB, Georgia Jackets, 643(even though their talent level at this age group isn’t the same as some of the other big organizations). Frankly there’s probably only 8 -10 legit major teams at this age group primarily because there are so many decent AAA squads.
Fusion Baseball Club just won the top bracket of the USSSA World Series Week 2. 41 teams total and they went 8-0 and beat some major teams along the way.
Colt .45s won the second bracket going 6-2.
That's a pretty good representation for AAA teams in GA. I have always felt like AAA in GA is Major in every other state except maybe Florida. Just my opinion.
