2011 ECB Yankees
The ECB Yankees are a cooperative of parents with the purpose of competing at the highest level possible. Founded in 2005 and managed by parents the Yankees are one of the most stable teams in Atlanta whose sole focus is on providing the most competitive environment at a very manageable price.
In 2011 the Yankees will be competing at an Elite level (15u and 16u) in tournaments throughout Atlanta, the Southeast and beyond if necessary. We currently have a complete roster of position players and are looking for LH pitchers interested in focusing on pitching.
If you're goal is to pay over $2000 or more and worry about the roster growing ... and growing ... ... and growing ... then you really DON'T want to be a Yankee. If you just absolutely HAVE to play every inning and NOT focus on perfecting your pitching ... well you know.
However, if you do ... just happen ... to want to perfect your pitching ... against the best competition around AND you're not looking to work a second job to do it, then you want to talk to us. We'll see to it that you perfect your craft, practice long hours, pitch against the biggest, baddest hitters we can find and still leave you with enough money to buy those ZigTechs. :)
2011 ECB Yankees...yes we're that good ... and yes we wear pinstripes.

This would typically be a parent meeting topic, in any event I'll give you a high-level answer.
Basically there are two types of teams, the first is a 'cooperative' where parents with a common purpose set direction. The other is more like a company where a team advertises a product and consumers pay for the product. Each has its pros and cons.
We believe that the former puts the right amount of control in the hands of the parents and attempts to eliminate unnecessary expense; basically where your money goes and who gets it (e.g. personal batting instruction versus team batting instruction, instructor A versus instructor B). Thus, we actively seek out like minded people. Those whose sole focus is quality instruction with the understanding that it comes at a price.
The latter model puts more control in the hands of the "company" and comes with the additional expense of management. A company's focus is on revenue and attempts to provide the best service for the cost.
Both can be successful and both require strong leadership at the top. All things being equal the cooperative is the least expensive model.
To answer your second question ... at his age, our coach better NOT have kids on the team!
