2nd Annual Pinckneyville Park 2010 12U Fall Slugfest - Nov 5th-7th
Dear 12U Managers and Coaches:
Please save the dates on your calendars for this great 12U event hosted by Pinckneyville Park on November 5th through the 7th. We had a great turnout last fall with 8 competitive teams participating, and Collins Hill (Green) ultimately taking home the trophies for 1st place and Hebron Angles receiving the 2nd place trophies. This fall’s event plans to be even better as we are going to accept the first 14 teams who sign up. As we did last year, we are going to make every effort to plan around football schedules, so please do not let that be a deterrent.
We offer a 3-game guarantee with 2-pool play games followed by Single Elimination Championship Bracket Play! ALL teams make the Championship bracket. Tournament Rules: This tournament will follow Georgia High School Official Rules.
Local Rules: 1) Chin straps not required; face masks not required; head first sliding permitted. 2) We will institute the "Courtesy Catcher" Rule in consideration of keeping the pace of play moving; 3) The Championship Game will not have a time limit. It will go all 6 innings and extra innings if needed; and 4) All other games Time Limit: 6 inning games with a 1-hour: 45 time limit. No inning can start after 1 hour: 40 minutes. There may be ties in pool play but no ties in elimination bracket. 5) Teams may play with as few as 10 players on their rosters. 6) Other: 50/70, balks, leadoffs, no fake bunt and swings, dropped 3rd strikes rule in effect 7) Mercy Rule: 15 after 3, 12 after 4.
Umpires will work to settle all problems on the field and their decision will be final.
Trophies: The First and Second Place Teams will receive trophies (each team player on both teams will receive an individual trophy).
Game Balls: Each team will provide 2 new Dixie Youth approved baseball for each game they play.
Official Score Book and Scoreboard: Home team will keep the official scorebook. Visiting team will provide a scoreboard operator. (We will provide the official scorebook)
Rainout Refund Policy: My number is (404) 683-3883 and I will make the final decisions regarding field playability. Please call if you have weather concerns. If the tournament is rained out, you will be reimbursed 90% of your tournament fee. If you play one game and the rest of the tournament is rained out, you will be reimbursed 50% of your tournament fee. If you play two games, there will be no refunds. We will make every effort to play all games.
Seeding after Pool Play determined as follows: 1) Win-Loss Record; 2) If there is a tie in Win-Loss Record, then we will go to Results of Head-to-Head Competition; 3) If still tied, fewest runs allowed: Note: In the event of a tie after criterion #2, all teams shall complete criterion #3 to determine seeding. If, after completing criterion #3, the tie has been broken and a two way tie still remains (i.e. two teams gave up the same number of runs), the two teams remaining tied will revert back to criterion #2 to break the two-way tie. If all teams gave up a different number of runs, no tie exists and all teams shall be seeded at criterion #3. If all teams gave up the same number of runs, proceed to criterion #4. 4) Run differential with a maximum of 10 per game; and if still tied 5) Coin Flip
Home Team and Seeding: Home team for pool / seeding play will be determined by the flip of a coin. Throughout the entire single elimination bracket play, the higher seed will be home team. (If two equal seeds play one another in the Championship Bracket, Home team will then be decided by a flip of the coin.)
Concessions: Please support our concessions. This is a fund raiser for us , and we would greatly appreciate it. We will have hot dogs, hamburgers (and possible other delicacies) plus a complete range of sports drinks and snacks.
