How are we looking so far?

Astros Navy and Orange look strong
Is OP down?
Bandits maybe a little down?
Mizuno good but got housed tonight..
Sandy Plains?
Astros White are pretty dang good.
Commanche?
Ga Jackets are off to a good start!

What’s everyone else seeing or hearing?

Both Astros definitely ahead of the pack

Mizuno ATL took losses against both of them but looked good otherwise

OP definitely slow out of the gate, they're not playing like a top 4 team right now

I still think those are the top 4 teams. Archer looked good, Jackets also, Astros White having some success. Next weekend will tell more with most of the teams in the same tournament.

Looks like this group sans Commanche and maybe Orange and SP took care of business today.

Archer Premier is a major team all day and kind of disappointing you guys signed up for AAA "come on guys"
MC Bulldogs is another team not playing in the right class. These guys could beat any major team thats out there.
OP is on the struggle bus!!
Orange and Navy are the real deal.
Astros White won a AA tourney, thats about it. Nowhere close to a MAJOR team.
Sandy Plains is solid
Miz Atl is hit or miss
Commanche is a high AAA team
GA Bandits are solid
Ga Braves another solid team that need to step up to the big boys.

Pretty good assessment igotit

I'd say you hit the nail on the head. Congrats to Orange on the win this weekend.

Definitely see a difference with the stretch on the field this season. Some teams are affected more than others. Once dominant pitchers are now getting rocked more than they are use to. Only seen a few pitchers that are still dominating on the mound. No surprise they are on teams that are leading the Majors and AAA season thus far.
All ready seeing more long balls than in the past, even with the larger fields. I agree with Igotit on most of the teams breakdown.

Majors - clearly the two leaders with several teams outside looking in.
1. Astros Orange
2. Astros Navy
3- up for grabs

AAA
1. MC Bulldogs / Archer
3. Ga Braves / Sandy Plains / Commanche

Today’s action..

Navy spilt in pool play in a 12u event
Orange wrecked by a very good Five Star National squad. They can play.
OP 1-0-1 today
Good day for Archer
Bandits 2-0...where are they playing this weekend?
MC blows up pool play then knocked out by White
Sandy Plains good day 2-0
Mizuno 0-2
White 2-1 losing a tight one to SP and beating MC
Jackets good day...great draw. TE is struggling.

Navy went 1-1 in 12u pool play, bracket canceled Sunday
Orange went 1-1 in pool play and lost in championship against Mizuno
Sox went 1-0-1 in pool play and lost to Orange in semi's
Archer wins Ripken in Tennessee against Pro Prodigy Green
Bandits lost in Shipyard Championship game in SC against 5Star DeMarini
MC Bulldogs went 1-1 in pool play and lost to Astros White in bracket
Sandy Plains went 3-0 before PG tournament canceled
Mizuno 0-2 in pool play but won TBS championship against Orange.
Astros White went 1-1 in pool and beat MC in bracket before PG canceled
GA Jackets 2-0 in pool before PG canceled

My top 10 (based on pitching depth and being consistent)

1.) Navy
2.) Orange
3.) Sox/Bandits
5-10.) The rest- anybody can beat any team but there is a difference between the top few based on pitching depth.

side note- Organizations that host tournament's should start using PitchSmart or cap it at 85 pitches for 3days. JMO

From what I’ve seen this year.....

1.Astros Navy
2.Astros orange
3. Mizuno
4. Op
5. Bandits
6. Jackets
7. APB
8. Showcase
9. SP
10.Commanche

on the come up... MC, Astros white, Ga. Braves,
Orange and navy are clearly in front! There are a few teams on this list giving them a run for there money. I also feel if you don’t play this competition week in and week out you shouldn’t be mentioned.

I completely agree with your side note 9 strong! I’m not sure I agree with Mizuno being ranked number 3 but maybe you have seen some games that makes you think they are better than OP/Bandits ?

My only question with Commanche is, have they beaten anyone on this list? I believe every squad listed has beaten them at some point ithis year.

Saying that they’ve got a couple of guys on the hill that can beat anyone.

I'd rank Bandits ahead of OP and would put Mizuno in the mix with both. Also, a win in early / mid March don't carry much weight now so probably will take a little while for everybody to cycle back through and get an updated head to head. I think Archer has a pretty good list except if we're including all GA, 5 Star should probably be in there, definitely ahead of SP, Comanche, Showcase, and Jackets.

Looks like all the teams are in the same tournament this weekend with the Astros playing up at 12u. Thoughts on rankings from this with us moving to the tail end of the season ?

Orange and Navy played up in PG 12U (Minor) tourney, with Orange beating Navy for the 'ship.

Sandy Plains also played up and won the GrandSlam 12u tourney.

OpSox beat Bandits in the PG tourney where most of the other top teams apparently were this weekend.

Seems like a pretty well-matched and skilled top ten, but fluid. Most of these teams can (and have) beat the others throughout the season. Tough to nail them into a fixed ranking order.

Regardless of ranking, it's fun to watch- these kids come to play.

I realize that since all the elite Cobb Co teams were on the road home early that the Atlanta NIT wasn't a legit tournament but just wanted to say there IS baseball outside of Cobb Co. Who knew?

It was a very legit and eye opening tournament. All the boys did fine. Keep bringing 100% so that everyone keeps getting better.

Absolutely a legit tourney. The playing field is leveling out (or more accurately, it's been leveling out and finally that's becoming apparent when they all get in a tourney together.) Most teams in the tourney had some real standouts offensively and defensively.

Any of these teams can beat any of the others on any day given the right conditions. Cool to see these great athletes challenging each other and getting better.
