Looking for a 2018 31" drop 5 baseball bat for transition... Preferably Demarini CF Zen or Louisville Slugger 918, 718,, or 618... New or used is fine...can't find one online or retail... don't want to drop $300+ on a bat that is only used for 8 months or so... will go pricier for BBCOR after that...

My son went to a -5 this fall. We got Maricci Cat8 and he likes it so far. It is $229, but I see the Cat7 on Amazon for $179. Is your son a 12U or 13U? My son is a 12U so could get 2 years out of it unless he goes to 14U after this year to be with more of his grade.

He is 12u.

Was really hoping someone on here had a drop 5 they wanted to unload used because their son just moved up to a drop 3 bbcor.

Oh ok. You may want to try posting this in the 14U discussion as well since they would have mostly used -5 bats last year moving to bbcor now.

If you can find a 2018 Easton Ghost drop 5 I think you will be pleased. Played several FL teams last year that were using them. Every bit as hot as the Zen. It looks like Eastbay still has some. You will get a warranty as well vs buying a used Zen with no warranty and have no idea about how it was used. See link below:

Don't know if you are on Facebook or not, but someone started a page called Cooperstown bat swap and sell... I picked up a warranty 2019 -5 Zen for a little over $200 with shipping to see if my son liked it for fall.. Lots of bats come through that page at pretty descent prices...

That is awesome to hear! I have heard that the guy who started that forum is really smart, good looking, all-around great guy. It might also be me. :) There are a lot of good forums on Facebook that have solid deals. Be sure to ask the group if the seller is GTG (Good to Go) before purchasing a bat. If you ever need help finding a bat be sure to let me know. I usually know a guy.

Check out the app SidelineSwap. It’s a great place for used and new gear for multiple sports. Baseball is the biggest. I just did a quick search for -5 31” bats and there are several good options. Good luck!
