Let's get a different type of discussion going, tell me who has made the biggest off season moves to date? This doesn't have to be just additions, it could also be be losing players.

I wondered if this topic could work so I let it set for a couple of days to see what kind of responses were made. Almost all of them are of the rumor/I heard variety. I think in fairness to the teams holding tryouts lets wait on this discussion until it settles down and it is known what really has happened.

Anytime a post has a large number of views, and no replies, there's good reason for it. Misinformation can actually hurt a boy's chances of making a team, so I agree with Stan. Now might be a good time to run silent...run deep so far as rosters go.

Contrary to your belief, most would agree that the major and top AAA teams have just about finalized their rosters. It's the newly formed teams along with a few others that are still searching for players, they will get their players once the other AAA teams have made their picks.

The two best 11U major travel ball teams from our area are rumored to be merging next year. The tentative roster is full of kids with lots of speed, pitching, offensive power, great defense, and a great coaching staff. But we must wait until the merger is official to make it public knowledge. Otherwise, I believe rosters should stay open ended until year's end to allow for player movement and tryouts. Looking forward to 2011...

So, I've now heard from several people that there will not be an EC Astros team in the 11U age group. One thing that I do know is that the top 10 major teams next season will look much different next season, look for the revamped 643 team and several EC teams to jump into the top 10.

What's happening is that several teams have started to assemble major type rosters which will expand the 11U major class to maybe 12-14 teams next season. Most of these teams were strong AAA teams that will make the move to majors next season. There are a few shake ups still going on that will effect a few teams, once that happens we'll know how the 11U majors will shake out. Right now, it looks like it'll be a much deeper group which is good.

Shiloh, EC Rays, EC Titans, EC Longhorns & Signature Park say they will all play majors next season and if you add them to the teams already in that age group, that should make at least a dozen. You'll also have some strong AAA teams like Wills Park, Macon, Middle GA Mocs, EC Yankees & maybe Home Plate that can contend as well.

The question is, can anyone challenge the EC Braves next season? Stealth, Rays or Stars?

Let's not forget about the Yard Dogs, they beat the Braves twice last season and I think were 2-2 against them. The Grays will be there as well along with the Gamers Red who played a tough tournament schedule last season.

When ya'll get it figured out, let me know, I got another call today about my team regarding us "looking for another player." I can promise you, the Stars are full and have been for a long time and we are extremely excited about our 9 returning players and our 3 players we added for 2011. Ill be on the sidelines and in a deer stand the next 3-4 months, feel free to keep the rumours going, It keeps me laughing.

thanks

btw, does anyone have any type of "player contract" I can look over! HA!

Good luck next season

I would not call them big pick ups! They will be the same quality as last year.

I no they picked up a few kids never can tell how they will gel together. Same can be said for gamers red they also picked up 3-4. On a side note no elite attack in 11u iam pretty sure 5 or so of those kids have already found new teams. I wish coach matt nothin but the best and realy appreciate the time and effort he has put in over last few years.

So, are the Gamer pick ups a big improvement on paper? The Red were a major team team so adding "major" type talent can be hard since there are only a few kids who can make it.

Biggin,

Thank you so much. It was a pleasure coaching your son and all the boys. We had a great run and I would like to think that all the boys that I have coached over the last 7 years are not only better players but better young men.

I know that I have not made every mom happy but I think I was fair and consistent. It is hard to coach with a son on the team, and I think at times I would put my son on the back burner to keep everyone else happy and that is not fair to him.

But I am excited about our new team and look forward to being an assistant coach verse the head coach.

Good Luck to all the Attack players, now go make me proud!

Matt

Who knows only time will tell how it all plays out. I will say gamers red picked up some quality kids. My understanding is there will be 3 gamers teams red, blue, and black and all three should be solid teams.

Yes, the Gamers Red did make some additions. Let me say that we are making absolutely no projections in how we fit in the pecking order for 2011, time will tell. We are, however, extremely happy with the boys taking the field in 2011. We will be a more cohesive team with 11 kids and parents on the same page. As we all know, it takes a great deal of time and effort to play competitive sports and there is something to be said about having a team full of kids that have a commitment to working on their game in the off season and outside of formal practice on a consistant basis. Good luck to all the teams in 2011.

Hey Matt give me a call when you can. I didn't know you were leaving to be an assistant. Scott, I'm sure the group you guys have will compete, they always do. Good luck to all of you guys next season.
