The GPA Hooks will hold open tryouts for our 15U teams for the 2011 season. Tryouts are scheduled on July 31, August 1 and August 8. They will be held at Ridge Road Baseball complex. Interested players should register on our web site for a specific tryout date.
The Hooks have partnered with the Georgia Pitching Academy (GPA) in Dallas to help develop our players’ core strength, mental approach to the game and proper mechanics. GPA’s instructors are certified by the Andrews Institute of Sports Medicine and the USC Dedeaux Research & Baseball Institute, and they educate our players on sports nutrition and advise our coaches on injury prevention. Our partnership enables us to teach and coach these important techniques and fundamentals throughout our program.
As an organization we had a great first year, and our teams took home 17 tournament trophies in our inaugural season. This is a dedicated group of players that enjoys baseball and doesn’t mind working hard to get results.
If you think you can't afford travel ball, we may have a solution. The GPA Hooks have partnered with USSSA to host several sanctioned tournaments, providing each team with a great fundraising opportunity that helps offset player costs. Through tournaments, sponsorships and fundraisers, our teams work hard to keep family’s out-of-pocket costs to a minimum.
