We are putting together an elite 14 year old team to represent our indoor facility, JCS Sports in Kennesaw. The General Manager will be JCS owner Casey Smith and the head coach will be JCS Head Instructor Ben Blumenthal (2010 Team Wilson 13U). Both coaches were drafted and played professionally and are under the age of 28. We will have 3 other guest coaches the were also drafted and around the same age. There will be ZERO "daddy ball" and will be run like high school. Positions will be fought for and won based on performance. We will not have the giant 16 to 18 player roster either. We believe it will be more beneficial to concentrate on a smaller number of kids. All players on the team will recieve one on one instruction as part of team budget. We have a field lined up for practices and tournaments if we want to host one. We will have an instructional tryout in the next couple of weeks. If you are interested or have questions call Ben @ 615-804-7619. Thanks |

We will be playing at the major level. This is the last year for most of these players before high school, and our goal is to have all of our guys ready for that next level and to not have any suprises when they get there. I learned quickly from last season, that players tend to play down or up to their competition. Playing at that level will ensure that the players will be focused and intense in every game.
Thanks for the question Ben |

Not having the large roster, how many are you planning to carry? |

13 players. I feel its too early to have "Pitcher Only" players. I was ahead of most players, in terms of velocity, when I was 14. Had some 14U coach turned me into a "pitcher only" to make more room for a bigger roster, I may not have developed into the catcher that I became and just would have been another high 80's pitcher that the scouts dont even look at.
Thanks for the question |

The tryout for JCS 14U will be free of charge, but still run like a clinic. The tryout date will be Tuesday, July 27th at Big Shanty Park from 5:30 to 8:30. An RSVP, while not mandatory, would be very helpful. Please email Ben at bblumenthal@jcssportstraining.com to let us know if you will be attending.

We are doing private workouts now looking for 2 players, preferably middle infielders with great pitching arms. |
