The Greater Gwinnett Christian Barons will be holding open tryouts for our upcoming 2019 Spring Baseball season. The GGC Barons are 8-time Homeschool World Series Champions and the premier homeschool program in the Southeast.
We will be fielding both Varsity and JV teams this upcoming spring with 14-18 players per team. All 8th - 12th grade players are encouraged to attend the tryout.
The GCC Barons are based out of Gwinnett County, GA and our Home Field is located in Duluth at First Baptist Church Duluth.
Information on our tryout is below:
What: GGC Barons Baseball Academy Varsity and JV tryouts
When: Sunday, August 26, 2018 (2:00 pm - 5:00 pm)
Tuesday, August 28, 2018 (6:00 pm - 9:00 pm)
Where: Veterans Field: 201 Wills Road, Alpharetta, GA 30009
We will be conducting a Pro style tryout and have players face live pitching/game situation.
More about The GGC Baseball Academy:
- Head Coaches have been coaching for over 35 years combined, are former college players and Georgia high school head coach (Fellowship Christian HS), and Level 1 Instructor with Doyle Baseball Academy for 7 years
- We focus on the fundamentals of the game while encouraging players to be the best they can be in a Christ-centered environment both on and off the field
- We keep individual team fees very reasonable per player, and in certain cases we offer scholarships for families. In addition, we offer fundraisers to minimize costs. Our fundraisers and scholarships in the spring of 2018 allowed each family to play with very little out of pocket expenses
- The GGC Barons play in the Georgia High School GICAA, Division II. We will play a 25-40 game schedule for the spring season (March - May) with a mix of tournaments and games vs other Public and Private High Schools. In addition we will play in the High School Home School World Series in May every spring.
- We will practice 2-3 times per week and provide individual instruction and "take home" drills for each player to work on their own
