BLDdad by quoting me you answered your own questions.

Your using words like $carfing, stockpiling and creating waves in certain corners of the field. I take my son to all the practices/games and I have know idea what your talking about. It seems to me that the coaches have a plan in place for these $carfed and stockpiled kids. You also quoted this at one time.
"The grapevine is saying that this will be two teams and players will cross. If the past is indicative of future results from a dad whose son used to play in this core group way back in rec ball and made the cut there will be a few that will play with both groups in efforts to win and get more work in. 2 five star prospects in the city bypassed the tryout. Overall they acquired two major new pickups that are slight game changers. The coaches are young and learning. They are guided by a grisly veteran that has had successes at the lower levels but has yet to realize the same on the big boy field. My guess is it is coming as the development continues. They have been and are still the gold standard in the city at 14u. I am on record on this sites archives as being a big fan of this program in its various iterations over the last two year. We always told our kids to shoot for that level of perfection and excellence."

Had a ball at this tournament and love how there is parity among the teams. Some parents need to take it down a notch and arguing with your players coach during the game only embarrasses the player and the parent. Trust the professionals.

we had fun too! I think captain ron was wrong with weak teams. I thought there was a good display of teams at this one as early as it is in the season. Congrats to the warriors!! We shall see you again #128521;

Yank you may want to reread my post minus my typo. I said our area in our age group has weakened overall. I said you and warriors are two best in area. Warriors is 28 some odd kids in a development program and most of their better 13 year old talent exited stage left for high school programs or stepped up to a higher age group. It will come down to which programs develops its limited talent best. I know who I would bet on!!!!

i know what you said Ron, and I also know all last year you have said good things about the prospects....I was just trying to say there is some good talent left in this age group. Our team plays school ball and stayed with our team with the exception of a few additions. We should be in good shape going into the spring. Hey on a side note, do you have a kid that plays? I have always wondered. Anyway, thanks for your support and comments!! Always a pleasure!!

Yankee, I agree with you there is talent but it is spread out on solid and lower level teams. Warriors are stockpiling 20 something but if they do not get the right mix chemistry could be off. The got the mix right this past weekend with one team that performed solid. If I were them I would split that group off a few more times to see if they can replicate. But that would create waves from certain corners of the field. That team was impressive. My grandkids play ball and I have to remain involved to keep make sure they are treated fairly. Your team is impressive and with a few tweaks will get even stronger. Eliminate the errors and some of the kids need to play baseball smart and not be told what to do at this level but that goes for all the teams I saw play. It is like when I was rookie a Chief told me: HAVE COGNITION BEFORE IGNITION!

We can all take note from that. Have a plan.

Yankee7, baseball has gotten weak in North Florida but this is a good sign. The teams are so spread out and they are properly focusing on development. If you think about it competitively you you’re your team as the returning best team and the Warrior Program that $carfed up 29 kids and is running a rotation over the fall. I do not see any others and namely Trinity making any waves. There are some good teams in this one but you would be better suited to stay home and have a three way and a BBQ. Save the cashola.
