Should the board of a community based recreational travel team require that a certain percentage of the players reside in the county of the program?

Yankee7, we played two games yesterday and one more today. We are doing pretty good 2-0. I think we play Central Florida today.

The team I saw had 7 of 13 or 54% and most live 90 miles away. Hmmmm I wonder if addresses are being fudged?

It is fairly typical in some counties in Ga. Something around 75% of the team be made up of players from that county.

If it's a County park with County funds, provided primarily for the inhabitants of that County whose tax base provides the bulk of the revenue by which the Park is funded, then why not?

I've seen where more Rec Park Travel Teams have required that a minimum percentage of the travel players have to have come from that Park's travel program. I haven't seen where they're required to be a County resident, HOWEVER the cost to non-County players was always higher than those who lived in County.

To answer your specific question, I wouldn't say that the board SHOULD require it, but I also wouldn't say that shouldn't.
