Does USSSA require the pitcher to toe the rubber and then step off. Asking umpire for appeal at certain base (whether it is missing base or running left early on tag) and then throwing to that base?
Or can team just have someone holding the ball stand on the bag and request appeal for the call (this is the way it sounds in USSSA rule book)?
Are high school rules different on this?
I understand this is a live ball in either situation and runners can advance at their own risk.
Thanks in advance.
