Posted - 07/01/2016 : 06:24:24 Son will be trying out for 13u teams. Should he wear his old team's uniform, or generic shirt and cap, or a combination of generic shirt, but last year's team cap?
The last time he tried out was back at 10 and he wore his rec uniform. The difference was all the coaches knew him. I think most kids were rec kids. This time we are looking at AAA, so experienced kids will be there. I don't know if any of these coaches know son.
Thanks!! |

Posted - 07/01/2016 : 09:57:52 I tell my son to never wear an old uniform because depending on what the new coach has heard about that team it could affect his tryout. I mean if you see two identical kids walk up and one is wearing an ECB Astros Jersey and one is wearing a Rec Park Jersey you are going to expect more out of the Astros kid and perhaps not so much out of the rec park kid. Preconceived notions aren't always right but why start out with any?
The hat...well....my best advice is to wear a generic hat but if your kid is like mine he might only have one hat that fits his head and it's better to show up with an old team hat than no hat! |
