Milton Baseball is proud to announce the formation of an 8th Grade team for the 2014/15 season. Coach Ray is excited to have a group of rising 8th graders working and playing together for an entire season prior to enrolling at Milton in the fall of 2015. This will give boys the opportunity to learn and adopt proven techniques and drills that will serve them well throughout their Milton baseball career.
The Milton HS baseball team has experienced unprecedented success over the past two years winning the state championship in 2013 and playing in the state finals in 2014. Having the opportunity to be exposed to the teaching and winning ways of Milton Baseball while forging on and off the field relationships with fellow players is a unique opportunity for rising 8th graders zoned for Milton HS.
The team will be using the Milton HS Baseball facilities in the fall of 2014 and the spring of 2015. The team will be an officially sponsored team of AYBA (Alpharetta Youth Baseball Association) as well. So, the Milton 8th grade team will be able to use some of the finest facilities in all of Georgia and the southeast.
The Milton 8th Grade team will be built to play competitively in the AAA/Major level. The team will be playing a ‘normal’ travel schedule that will begin in the fall of 2014 and conclude at the end of the school year in May of 2015 where Coach Ray and his staff will take over for the summer season.
The head coach of the Milton 8th Grade team will be Alan Wildes. Coach Wildes is a former college and high school baseball coach. Coach Wildes was the pitching coach at Middle Tennessee State University for 2 years prior to becoming the head coach at Riverwood High School where he coached for 5 years. Coach Wildes is the current coach of the 13U AYBA Titans.
Tryouts will be at the Milton HS field on Saturday, July 12 at 10:00 am.
This team will only be for 2014 rising 8th graders zoned for Milton High School.

The 14U Milton Eagles will be holding an additional day of tryouts on Monday, July 21 at the Milton HS baseball field at 7pm. All players must be zoned to go to Milton HS.
This is NOT a feeder team. This is a 14U travel team that will be playing a competitive travel tournament schedule during the fall of 2014 and spring 2015.
The team will have access to all of the Milton HS baseball facilities in the fall and spring of next season. Head Coach Joey Ray led the tryouts on Satuday, July 12 and will be leading the trouts on Monday, July 21. |
