Are we as parents really showing up to the local batting cage or Rec field to pay some guy $25 or $40 a pop that says he's a professional coach? Even though we've never heard of him or his team. There is a very good chance the team does not fill and then we move on and pay next guy? This has to stop. A Dad coached 9U team out of a rec park is ok. However, where are they? I am seeing a 50/1 ratio for "professional coaches" versus dad coaches this year. Have all of our kids really gotten so much better over the last 5-7 years that this has become necessary? I'm thinking of going back to straight Rec ball. Am I the only one that finds this ridiculous?
