Posted - 01/08/2019 : 22:04:30 The Georgia Travel League, coming off a successful inaugural Fall season, is gearing up for our first spring season of operation. Our goal is to provide the lower level travel teams in the north Georgia area a competitive league which will give coaches an opportunity to work towards player development, while still being able to enter and play tournaments during the spring and summer seasons. Our model is simple, you register with us and just show and up and play competitive teams in your area that are of the same level of talent in the travel ball world. We handle the scheduling and logistics of operating the league, updated standings every week, and operating a post season tournament for the top teams in the league. While the league is competitive and allows coaches to win, the fact is it gives teams the opportunity to properly develop players in a game setting without the pressure of winning a tournament or being limited to a certain number of games in a tournament only setting. For the spring season, we will look to schedule teams 1 games during the weeknights (Tues/Wed) from March thru June, freeing your teams up to play in tournaments each weekend or as you desire. Through RBI Tournaments, teams will get a post season tournament as those details are being worked out.
We have two options for registration: Option A covers ALL umpire costs for each home game, awards, service fee, and teams that want to participate in post season. Cost is $1,500.
Option B DOES NOT cover umpires or post season but does cover awards and service fee. Cost is $750.
As you can see, umpire cost is the biggest difference. Teams that go with Option B will need to make sure 2 umpires are at all home games. If umpires are not present, then it becomes a forfeit. Coaches, parents, etc. are not permitted to umpires. Only umpires from an approved association.
So why take the time to manage scheduling pick up games outside of registering for tournaments, securing field space, and locking down umpires? Let us do the leg work for you and you focus on coaching and development of your teams. Give our spring season a shot and help us grow the Georgia Travel League.
We look forward to having you register and join. Registration will continue throughout January and February, with schedules being completed about mid-February and games beginning early March. Should you have any questions, don't hesitate to reach out to us for more answers.
