During a freak collision on a flyball today, my son went down very hard to the ground. All his weight went down on his left arm and it scared me badly because he wasn't getting up. After the coaches got him to the dugout we knew it was probably broken. The lady could have been a mother, grandmother not sure but she met us there by the time we got him in to look at it. After seeing it, she took off and was back in 3 minutes flat with cardboard and tape and made him a heck of a makeshift splint. I didn't get a name - but thank you very much ma'am. My boy broke both bones in his left arm but the quick thinking of the stranger saved him from surgery because the breaks were clean and the arm was immobilized. We are done for the fall but best believe we will be ready for Spring.
