Development First Sports Academy is Atlanta newest state-of-the-art baseball, softball, and sports performance training facility located in Tucker, GA, just inside I-285. We seek to provide a superior travel baseball and softball experience, world-class sports performance training, and unmatched coaching in a diverse yet challenging environment that focuses on developing the whole person. We seek to enhance the lives of all players we interact with while offering a solid foundation for life, college, or entry into professional-level play.
BASEBALL COACH
A D1 baseball coach is responsible for the rigorous development of our youth baseball players, must embrace diversity, and embody our core values of hard work, self accountability, respect, and humility. They are able to communicate with each other, players, parents, and officials in a manner that reflects these values. While we all have a passion for the game and love winning, D1 coaches seek first to build mechanics and the foundations of proper play. Development First Sports Academy is the only model of its kind in the Atlanta-metro area.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE
Supervise the activities of one or two travel baseball teams, which includes, but is not limited to:
Coordinate and attend all practices
Coordinate, in conjunction with other D1 coaches, the yearly baseball tournament schedule
Maintain roster, lineup, and other common baseball administrative duties
Enforce team rules and D1 codes of conduct
Mentor athletes in the 10u - 16u age group
Work with assistant coaches to deliver upon the mission of providing superior coaching and training services to all D1 clients
Professional communications with parents, players, peers, and others
Extra opportunities exist for 1:1 lessons, camps, and clinics
EXPERIENCE
The ideal candidate(s) fall into one of the following experiential categories, or some hybrid thereof:
Has played baseball in college and/or professionally, and has 2+ years of coaching experience relevant to our age groups; or
Has played baseball in high school, and has coached in the middle or high schools setting likely as a head coach or as an assistant coach; or
Has current experience as a travel baseball coach in either a part-time or full-time capacity
Development First offers an aggressive earning structure for coaches that considers coaching, lessons, camps, and clinics. Pay is commensurate upon experience, but we are local frontrunners when it comes to how our team is compensated.
Candidates must have completed high school.
