How are the umpires for the Championship Game determined? |

True it is merit. Each group of Umpires has a Crew Chief that makes assignments for the games during the pool play. The Crew Chiefs are selected based on their experience and times at the park. The Crew chiefs then watch them as they work, they will work games together. They then fill our a report, as well as someone watches the crew chiefs. You will always get the best the park has during the Championship. I have done it and also done the Semi's. It is a blast. |

We noticed ALL of the umpires we had seemed to have a real passion for baseball AND the kids. The umpires were some of the best we had all year. |

One of the cool things at the (too long) closing ceremonies was when all the umpires walked into the park. They got a HUGE ovation.
We had a big guy for three of our games who was outstanding with the kids and did a good job.
What a great week. |
