Does anyone have any info on a machine that breaks in gloves (I think it is Mizuno)? Apparently they move it from store to store, because it was at a sporting goods store in Canton about 2 months ago but has moved on.
Or any other advice on a quick solution to break in a glove.

Pricing, from memory, but I was just there last week: Free if you buy a Mizuno glove from them; $10 if you buy another glove from them; $20 if you buy your glove somewhere else.

I just had a catchers mitt done a couple of weeks ago and it was $20.00 plus tax. It takes about 15-20 minutes by the time they steam it then work on it with the mallet. I agree with everything said here....I had never dealt with S&S but they were first class....I will deal with them again!!!

The address is 11005 Jones Bridge Road, Alpharetta, GA 30022. Very close to the intersection of Jones Bridge & Old Milton Pky.

Best bet is to call @ 770-753-0069 for update on price, but from what I recall its $10 or $20.

We have had an infielder's glove and a catcher's mit oiled/steamed/pounded at S&S. It worked great on both gloves. My son started using the catcher's mit the next week, and it has worked really well.

All - that is true. S&S has the only one here in the state of Georgia. Gina is wonderful and manages the store, plus they have some very knowledgeable folks in the store as well.

Its actually a dumpling steamer that has a Mizuno name on it ;-) The guys who work there really oil/lubricate the glove before steaming, and pound them out with a mallet after steaming to help break-in.

My son lost his glove last July (right before travel team try-outs), and got his new glove steamed. Like silvercityjon, one of my sons teammates got an Akadema Catchers Mitt from Santa, and after getting the glove steamed he was able to catch bullpen and attend a catchers camp in early/mid-January. Really does help. The kid who worked the glove used to catch for Dennis Jordan @ ECB, and he too was amazed at how well it worked on catchers gloves. A few of my sons teammates have brought new mitts + 1B gloves there as well, and have been able to play games with the gloves shortly after.

The folks @ S&S are really great - you'll enjoy working with them.

I've heard about it. I believe they have one at S&S sports in Alpharetta. It basically steams the glove to soften it. I've heard it works pretty good, although I have never used it.

S & S Team Sports has the machine.....770-753-0069. I took my son's new Akadema Catchers Mitt to them and it does make it a little easier to break in.
