Hello Forum Members,

This is Dave Weaver aka..catchingcoach on this and many other forums. I run the New England Catching Camp in New Hampshire. One of my main goals is to get coaches talking about this often times neglected position.

I you have any questions about this position, mechanics, drills, or how we teach the different skills just post them on this forum. I'll stop back regularly to add my thoughts on the topic.

Treg3,

Thanks for writing. Every clinic we do around the country has a different profile as far as what age and gender kids are attracted to it. As of last Thursday the girls sessions were filling nicely and the 12 and under boys was closed with the max of 12. Oddly the clinic had not attracted any 13+ boys so the session for that was switched to another 12 and under boys to accommodate the boys on the waiting list.

There will be an opportunity to schedule some private session with Jay during that week after the clinic. If you'd like more info on that drop me an email at coachweaver@catchingcamp.com

DecaturDad,

Thanks for the kind words. My son Jay will be down your way next weekend to run a 3-day clinic in Marietta. If you make it to that clinic be sure to introduce yourself to him.

My 10U son attended Dave's 4 hour camp this fall. Dave is one of the best "teachers" I have seen. I am seriously considering having my son attend his week long camp in New Hampshire in the summer of 2011. (We have Coopertown this summer.)
