Parent of a kid who played in an 11U AA tournament this weekend and had a 12U team playing down. 12U team was huge compared to the 11U kids. 12U team won the tournament. Did they really win anything? How could you feel good about this as a coach, parent or kid on that team? I was embarrassed for them.

If you don't have an issue with 11U AA then you should have no issue with 18U AA for the same reason. If kids love the game and want to play why should you get to decide at what level they must play or else they should just stop? So, I guess you take issue with HS rec ball? How about the adult leagues? I guess those guys that really love baseball should just stop playing since they won't be going pro/D1 right? I love how there will always be someone out there that thinks that they should decide what others should do. How about you let your kid play at the level you deem acceptable and let the other kids/adults do the same?

Shut Out - I figured you were kidding, however, based on the sheer number of posts that CACO3girl makes, I doubt she is.

Most kids won't go D1 or pro. I've posted on here several times that anyone who truly makes playing in college a priority can play in college.

Wouldn't classify 18U as "kids", but since USSSA, TC, and PG do not list 18u AA I'm guessing there isn't much of a market for it, that was the joke.

Just having fun with you guys. I knew I would get a rise..... All baseball no matter the level is awesome and I'm thrilled these kids have a place to play.

Nobody is forcing you to read this post, and nobody wants you to comment on it, if that's all you have to offer.

So, move along ... go where only things that you think should be things are actually things.

I suppose they had the lone 12U team play down with 11U teams because their field dimensions, time limits, run rules, pitching rules, etc., are all the same. I'm not saying that's a good reason, but it's the only one I can think of. That 12U team probably should have either played up or found another tourney. Like OP said, how much can you really enjoy a tourney championship that you took from one-year-younger opponents, anyway?

Central All-Star Promotions - Sawnee Mtn Showdown. I was watching my youngest of three boys play, all of them play travel ball. I have never seen anything like this before. I agree the team should have been pulled up to 13U. Tournament had both travel and all-star brackets, could have pulled them up to 13U all-star.

I've never heard of this. What org was running this tourney? I have heard of combining the two levels if you don't have enough teams but they pull 11u up to 12u not vice versa.
