different levels and diff prices and diff gates so will be interesting but hopefully they can co=exist

It appears one is major and the other is AAA

I wish they would just agree on a price and a gate so not to confuse parents...both directors seem Legit and i would trust either

Are you saying the Training Legends tourney director told you ALL 14s would be at East Cobb Complex?

Looks like someone said they had it and didn't ,,,shame on them. That was a bs move

I was at ECB today watching 12u teams and heard a few coaches talking to one of the ECB guys and they said TBS had fields next week according to their schedules but if it did not make they would look to sub out fields
Crazyforbball Posted - 03/17/2017 : 15:44:49
TBS also a class act..they had an end of season tourney last year kids could sign up for as individuals. It didn't make and they not only refunded the $$ in full, but also sent every kid who signed up a ring. Again, don't know the other just kudos to TBS.

If it's listed on the ECB website then they definitely have the fields. TBS fields tourneys out of ECB every year, not familiar with the other but that doesn't mean they haven't rented a field or two also.

I noticed no one willing to call out other programs who charge even more than the one who is charging 500 plus that use facility almost every weekend?

TBS is doing a great thing by exposing what the profit mark up is for tournaments anywhere not just at ECB but it is a business and much like movies and any other form of entertainment if its too high stop going.

However that would beg..where do you go to play? They are all too high for what you get. It has never been about kids and parents its been about making a profit. When you get a 3GG and are paying $200 per game what are you really paying for?

I agree having 2 events at same location and 2 drastic price differences is just absurd. Its like 2 movies in same theater and one cost 24 and one 16 but you pay for parking as well. Who at gate is going to determine who paid for what?

One of the tourneys (I won't mention which) is notorious of listing teams that have NOT committed, nor has even expressed interest in the tourney.... Short of the director reaching out and coach yeah, "Oh ok, I'll take a look at your event"--- only to find his team 'penciled in'.... Kinda a bait and switch.

For our age group (12U), look at the duplicate teams listed... Did teams list themselves in both? Maybe. If teams aren't communicating with one another in knowing exactly where each are playing, there could be some P.O.ed teams come Wed when pool play is set and you're not in the quality of tourney you thought.

i guess shows what tournies really cost...how much do other organizations make when they have events there at even more than that

Very true. But when one offers: longer games (1:45 vs 1:30) and a mug better price ($225 vs $375) and one has regular gate of $5 pp, where as the other is $145... From a team planning/budget standpoint, I'll take more. Aseball (game lengths) for less cost ($220 vs $520)-- and let my parents/fans pay their own way.

Sorry, but no way can you have me believe one is $300 better, with shorter game times.

I think it's only a certain age group for training legends, not all age groups.
CaCO3Girl Posted - 03/16/2017 : 11:37:13
The training legends site says "Location = East Cobb and surrounding areas"....East Cobb does not necessarily mean East Cobb Baseball complex it could actually mean the east side of Cobb county.
turntwo Posted - 03/16/2017 : 11:22:44
Interesting. How can two tourneys state they are hosting tourneys at the same park on the same weekend... Someone either double-sold, or there's some false advertising going on.

Personally, I'd prefer TbS. Always very well run, and their prices are HALF of TL.
ryansville34 Posted - 03/16/2017 : 10:43:26
I can only speak for the TbS-BPA event. We have a contract for the use of ALL FIELDS at East Cobb complex March 24-26.
CaCO3Girl Posted - 03/16/2017 : 07:31:04
They have a ton of fields and a high school across the street. Most tourneys only require 2-4 fields. Why can't it be all of the above?
