If you have ever been up to Lake Pointe and had to deal with the frustration of the lack of knowledgeable scoreboard operators? For all the money it cost to play and it is suppose to be where your players get looked at. This simple feature is always a mess. You don't know who is up half the time or the count and outs are wrong. For what I see its a bunch of teenie boppers up there doing the scoreboards. PG makes so much money they can afford to have people who care enough to make sure the scoreboard is kept right. Just my vent! |

I believe LP Leases the 8 fields to PG, so yeah LP is doing well, but PG is paying for these 8 fields year round whether anyone is out there or not. I heard PG is going to move a lot of their Big WWBC tournaments eventually out of GA. Not 100% sure but heard as I said before LP is doing well, but PG is not? They are 2 separate companies. |

Lakepoint has to be doing well. How do I know? While you baseball parents are complaining about paying 5 or 10 bucks to get in to watch two or three games of baseball, I paid 25 dollars to watch my daughter cheer...for 2 minutes and 30 seconds. 25, for adults. 20 for kids. Plus parking.
I'd say that Lakepoint is doing just fine.

Doubt PG is struggling..maybe some of the youth tourneys..big competition from TC and entry fees about the same now. Older kids it's still THE place to play and be "seen" but for younger I think TC trumps them...for the same price you have multiple brackets...with PG you are a top majors team or you're out in 3 games. So PG is great for the super competitive top teams as they draw great competition from all over the country, but for less competitive than that you have a way better chance of getting more games in at TC. But for 15 and up, it's THE place to play, hands down. |

they are also a nightmare trying to talk to people in their office with roster help etc. Conflicting advice or tips depending on who you call. The problem is high dollar companies running on low dollar help |

Sorta jumped into a scorekeeper last week because he wasn't keeping the board updated correctly. Come to find out, majority of the problem is they are sitting behind the umps and he was telling me it's hard to hear every call they make especially if they don't have a hand gesture for balls and strikes...... |

Accurate record keeping of pitching is critical due to strict adherence to pitchsmart so it's important you have someone on your team recording this as you don't want to accidentally overpitch someone. Frustrating if it's wrong when PG is supposed to have an official at every game but ultimately it's still up to coaching to be sure pitching is accurately recorded. We had several instances last year where we had actual rules disputes and the teen-looking official was present but stayed completely out of it. |

1. If you have issues with how the score is kept then you should email PG and complain. They are a business, if their employees are not up to par then you should tell them. Otherwise, how do they know?
2. MANY of the decent umps are currently umping high school games. What is left is not always great.
3. Most tourneys were rained out this weekend...but not PG. You aren't necessarily paying for better umps and people to keep score, you are paying for the fields at Lakepoint...and they did their job this weekend, allowing games to be played even though mother nature was having a fit. |

The problem we have had at PG is pitcher statistics. Every now and then
the score keepers do not keep up with the pitching change at the start
of an inning and we end up with a pitcher pitching more innings than
he actually pitched and another pitcher not getting credit for the
innings he pitched. Makes some of the pitching statistics suspect. |

Nobody is ever happy, geeez. Next week it'll be the concession stand pricing, then the parking fee, etc.... just enjoy the time you have to watch your kid play ball! |

Yeah it can be frustrating for sure. I've been up there twice in the last 3 weeks and it has been off. Last year they seem to of kept up better with the scoreboards and players. The umps also seemed to take it more seriously and to be more in the game. Maybe it's early yet, I don't know. I can tell you up in the box, the cell phones are the culprits lol. Folks are so preoccupied with their phones that they don't watch the play by play. Today was the first time ever since I've been up there that the front gates had no one there to take your $ until about 10:00 this morning. I guess everyone slept in. The strike zone has been as big as a beach ball this year I now that for sure. This includes East Cobb as well. |
