Chain, as everyone knew it, including all the players, coaches and facilities is now known as Five Star National Baseball.
Lester Miller, Game On owner, only owns the naming rights to "Chain" and the Savannah facility that really had nothing to do with Andy Burress, Britt Dobbs and the rest of the staff that built that program. |

Game On/ Chain Sports
January 11, 2017 – Game On Training is pleased to announce the acquisition of Chain Sports today. The agreement was carefully crafted by Lester Miller, owner of Game On and Michael Godbee, owner of Chain Sports to create an Elite baseball organization dedicated to developing each baseball and fast pitch player to their highest potential. The Combined organization will offer one of the largest and most elite baseball programs in the Southeastern United States with approximately 950 players and numerous first class facilities.
For many years, Game On Training and Chain Sports have had a strong competitive relationship. In those years, a mutual respect and trust between the two programs was cultivated, and as a result several meetings between the two clubs were conducted. At these meetings both organizations provided ideas on how to improve their programs and opportunities for their players. As discussions were held, it quickly became clear that consolidation was the most logical step to improve the landscape of travel ball.
“We are excited about the consolidation of our two organizations,” said Lester Miller, owner and founder of Game On Training “Together we will continue to maintain and foster a professional and positive environment while continuing to seek new and innovative ways to get the most out of our players. The quality of our combined coaching staff aligned with our values and vision will demonstrate what a premier baseball organization should look like.”
Both programs have enjoyed a long history of providing outstanding development to the youth of their respective areas. The primary reason for consolidation is to combine all resources, which will produce a superior program to the youth of both organizations,” said Michael Godbee, owner of Chain Sports and member of the Game On/Chain advisory board. Chain Baseball was one of the original pioneers of Elite Travel Baseball and College Placement of High School players. Chain Baseball has had thousands of players receive college scholarships and hundreds drafted by Major League Baseball teams. Game On was able to secure 85% of their 2016 High School seniors a College placement and is responsible for securing college scholarships for 400 players since 2013.
During the 2017 season both organizations will continue to function as separate clubs, keeping their own names, locations and facilities while at the same time having the ability to merge teams. This will allow each program to amplify their respective strengths, and as a result eliminate existing areas of deficiency. The end result will be hundreds of players reaping the benefits of more efficient practices, higher level of play, dramatically increased exposure to colleges and universities and a tremendously deep staff of coaches and instructors.
In closing, both organizations are extremely excited to be moving into the future of travel baseball together, and providing a truly ELITE baseball experience. |
