any suggestions on wood bats such as manufacturer wood type such as maple, bamboo, composite. Ive also seen some manufactures are moving the labels to make contact on the grain face instead of the grain edge????? |

ordered 4 bullit bats to finish the season mostly because of the price 30 bucks for 32 and smaller, $40 for 33 and above. the natural finish showed alot of stress cracks after 1 round of soft toss |

Hi All - I highly recommend Carolina Clubs. My son is almost 10, but has worked with wood in the cages for a few years. Carolina Clubs makes bats for about 150 guys in MLB - but the kool thing that we have found is they've made custom bats for my son (+ teammates) that are very reasonably priced ($35-$45). The last couple wood bats we've purchased (both ash and maple), Carolina Clubs found a lighter weight billet to start from, and made a -9 and -10 bat (to match same length/weight) of his big barrel bats. They even put a larger knob on the bat so its easier for my son to handle.

Javey Lopez started a company called Bonez Bats, everyone on our team bought one for a tournament last year. My son is still using his in the cages. |

I found a great wood bat and the manufacturer is in the Atlanta area, it's called Striker. They make an ash bat and a maple |

Where did you hear this? What organization are you referring to? Pros can't use them but my son and most of his team mates used them at ECB in the WWBA tournament a few weeks ago? |

I will never buy a Sam Bat or Marruchi. I throw a ton of batting practice and have seen these $100 plus wood bats shatter after a couple of swings! That is a pretty expensive piece of kindling at that point.
The Baum Bat can be used all the way up to low A rookie ball. We had two of them for the team and they lasted 2 years with just about the entire team using them.
The Demarini is a pretty good on as well, plus it hasa 90 day warantee. |

Please understand that right now, the bamboo bat is not being allowed in woodbat tournaments. Everyone has their own preference, just make sure it can be used for other than BP if you are going to buy one. |

I have two sons 16 and 14 both playing in 18u wood. Have any of you seen manufacturers changing the labels to hit on the face instead of the edge for maple bats. |

Older HS age player, go with Marucci or Sam Bat, younger a bamboo is great and will last. Is he using it for tournaments, or just batting practice or off season hitting. We need more information to give you a good answer. |

Buy a Baum Bat!!! They are more expensive up front but will pay for themselves in no time. They feel and hit just like wood and will last for a LONG time! Go to http://www.baumbat.com/ to get them. |
