Posted - 11/10/2016 : 13:12:22 My son went to a college camp a few weeks ago and today they e-mailed me his grade or score. they said they use a 25 to 40 grading system, 25 being low and 40 being tops, my kid got a 36 and I'm just trying to understand where that would put him, I have never heard of a 25 - 40 scale, any info would be greatly welcomed. |

Posted - 11/14/2016 : 10:59:03 I will say this, you can go to 10 different camps and get 10 different writeups, but what doesn't change much is the velocity, 60 times, (Zepp I believe is a joke but they do give you a score that can change 20 mph per swing). I guess it depends on who is doing the write ups. I have seen many contradicting writeups for the same kid so it's all about what they see or think on that day. Also who is doing the camp, is it one of these organizations that is offering a more expensive camp or tournament down the road or a college. I tend to think the specific colleges that do writeups are much better than some of the Scoutz and Factory types. |

Posted - 11/10/2016 : 15:55:20 Thanks, they did send individual scores on the usual, arm , position , hitting with Zepp, and 60"s and was a good write up overall, I just have never seen this scale being used . |

Posted - 11/10/2016 : 15:26:45 MLB scale is 20-80, PG is 1-10, never heard of a 25-40 either. Perhaps you should ask them for their scale as well as what his scores were on the individual tools. Also might want to ask the HSBBW folks who deal with this stuff more. http://community.hsbaseballweb.com/ |
