I am old some may not know these. A classic, black and white-musical, **** Yankees also The Lou Gehrig Story, and also all of the others that have been listed. Great movies, would be a great baseball movie marathon watching all of those listed. Also, how about 8 Men Out-Black Sox.

Old black and white movie - Fear Strikes Out - the true story of Jimmy Piersal who played for the Boston Red Sox. Jimmy had a nervous breakdown during a game - the root of the problem was an over demanding father that pushed him too hard to play baseball. Travel ball dads - watch and learn.

sorry..THE FINAL SEASON is the name.
goyard Posted - 09/13/2009 : 07:11:49
Often overlooked...THE FINAL INNING....great movie!

Inning by Inning - a Portrait of a Coach - the Augie Garrido story. Best baseball film ever if you like watching what is great about baseball and the coaches young men will play for and put out for. My son was 12 when he and I watched two years ago and wants to play for Augie, even if that means attedning Texas, and he loves GT and Coach Hall.

My favorite baseball movie is:
Major League 3: Back to the Minors

Next is Summer Catch. One day I want to get up and spend a week or two watching Cape Cod League games.

Ditto, JC...also like Bull Durham, especially Crash Davis's quote that starts: "Well, I believe in the soul...."
baseballfamily95 Posted - 09/11/2009 : 16:16:20
Without a doubt, Field of Dreams. After that, I'd have to say that The Rookie is another good one.
