He plays almost year round and wants a new glove for his birthday. I am more concerned with quality than price.
Thanks for your input!

Mizuno has a range of sizes from 9" to 11.5" with the softer leather and lower price to get them started. You can call me at the store (we are sponsors of this website and have a local sporting goods store) any time if you need additional info 678-903-0024

I've always liked the Mizuno power close gloves which have the cut in the leather at the hinge to make them easier to close. I'm sure there are others just as good but that is what we have always used and still do.

the one that fits and the one that doesn't break the bank. he's gonna lose it. or forget where he left it.

I have seen others on here make the same recommendation but the Nike Diamond Ready glove seems to be the best for the value. It is easy to close, which is important at that age. It is not expensive, so if you lose it, replacing it won't be so painful. Good luck in you glove selection.

brands are truly a personal opinion, but my son seems to like Easton. They seem to brake in very quickly and have different "levels" of gloves depending on the skill of the player. I best advice I can offer is do not get a glove that is too big. Bad habits are often formed because the glove is too big.

I really like the Shoeless Joe for my smaller grandson that is playing at 6U. It is very flexible and allowed him to close the pocket.

Get one you're willing to lose or misplace...I think we went thru 3-5 gloves over a few seasons around that age.
