USA Baseball recommends the age cutoff date for youth baseball in the US, which in turn has always been adopted, typically starting with Little League USA. The last change they made was January 11, 2005, when they shifted the date to a player's age on April 30, which was to be implemented beginning in 2006 and in place no later than 2007 (link to press release below).

There are no press releases on their website regarding any change in age cutoff date currently in effect.

Any change to January 1, 2010 would have been made at last years Winter meetings. These meetings are in October and November each year, usually where it is warm. No changes have been made to most of the regular alphabet groups (AAU, CABA, USSSA, NABF, AABC, etc.) that I ca find, doesn't mean that XYZ group did not change.

At 15, thre may have been a change for world wood bat or pefect game, but I see nothing on their page...

There are some new bat standards for High School taking effect January 1, 2012. I am sure Travel ball organizations will adopt this standard.

I have seen a change (last year) for Babe Ruth Baseball
quote:

16-18 Babe Ruth Baseball Division (only)
0.02, Paragraph 2(a) now reads

Any player born prior to May 1, 1993 and on or after January 1, 1990 will be eligible for Babe Ruth 16-18 League
competition – Season 2009. Any player born in 1990, 1991, and 1992 are eligible for Babe Ruth 16-
18 Division. Players born in January, February, March and April of 1993 must play in the 16-18
Division. Players league age 15 by May 1 age determination date are eligible to be swing players
in the 16-18 Division.

It does not look like ANYTHING is in the pipe from USA Baseball and LL regarding a Jan. 1 age determination date change
