When a catcher throws out a runner trying to steal is he awarded an assist? I have heard "caught stealing" percentage mentioned but also know that same term applies to runners. Is "caught stealing" two separate stats, one for catchers and one for base runners?

Caught stealing is an assist for the catcher. A percentage is kept on the catcher for success rate at throwing out potential base stealers.
