Does anyone know of a place with simulation type pitching? Or pitching machine that throws real baseballs, but different pitches? Want son to practice hitting off speeds and curve balls.
Prefer Cherokee/Cobb county if possible.

Agree it would be about as awesome as it gets though! I would surely attend with my kid.....my change up is horrible |

Those systems cost around $35K, so it's a major investment for a hitting facility to add. I personally think it would be a money maker and would draw lots of folks in to use it, but don't know how much & when you'd see the ROI. |

They used to have that at Sports-a-Rama in Roswell. I don't know if Sports-a-Rama is in existence anymore. |

There used to be a guy can't remember his first name. last name Peavy that had a video imagine on a screen in a full length batting cage that would throw different pitches randomly. I thought there was no way it was realistic. I could not believe how good that thing was. Although you couldn't read a grip or anything the timing was perfect and the movement on the baseball was very much like a real pitcher. |

Haven't found what you are looking for but we rent two cages side by side and go back and forth setting them at two different speeds to alternate between fast balls and slow ones. |

The pitching machines at Auterson had the ball dancing like a wiffle ball for us. It was the type of machine hshuler was describing. The off speed pitchers look to have a big advantage so far at the 13u level. |

Find a place with an adjustable two-wheel pitching machine. They can generate breaking balls. Set the top wheel's velocity to a higher setting and it will do the trick. The greater variance in velocity, you get more of a curveball. The less variance in speed between top and bottom wheels, you get more of a slider or cutter. |

I was just asking the household as that would be really neat, but I have never heard of it nor have they. My son says its a myth and a machine cannot throw a curve ball....Is there anyway you can pitch to him? Or do you know any other dads that pitch to their kid and maybe you could join?
My son seems to be very comfortable in the box and usually good with curves and change ups, but that is because he sees a lot of live pitches from me. I dont have a very good change, but I try to throw one and usually throw my slider off speed. Best thing about the whole live pitching atmosphere is there is No telling where the pitch is going.........I cannot tell you how many times I have hit him with a pitch, nor how many times he has knocked me off the mound....... |
