11 GA teams in the Top 34 w/a weather delay in progress.

ECB Astros are #3, Alpharetta Athletics are #9.

The thing I think people forget is that not only should teams be good, but they need other good teams to play. Who wants to have to go out of state every weekend to play strong competition just to keep developing.

At 9,11, and 14 and up you can always play up an age group to get better competition because you are not changing field size, but at 10, 12, and 13 you need good teams to play every weekend to get better. Having ALL the best players on one team would actually not be as beneficial as everyone seems to think.

It would be fun to put together a Travel All-star team sometime and play an open tournament to just see "Who is the best."

I guess that is what the Battle in the South has turned into.

24 boys are having a great experience. Could be that 12 would and 12 wouldn't in your scenario.

I noticed 2 North Gwinnett teams in the top 20 after pool. I wonder how they would have done had they joined forces?
