So my kids team is signed up to play a regular season in Lanier League but I was looking at the league website today and the only age bracket that has more than 4 teams list is 10u.....10u has 11 teams...every other age has 1-4 team, yikes . The listed sign up date deadline was 12/31.

Am I missing something? Are the other age brackets not going to make?
Really kind of worried, my kid isn't in 10u.

The LBL is not going anywhere. As long as there is enough teams to field an age group we will provide them a format to play ball. bballguy you make a great point and believe me I wish there was a way to address that problem. As the tournaments get more expensive the LBL will make a come back I am predicting "jmo"

PS if we never host another age group and it ends with this year we would not trade the relationships we have built and the friends we have made with coaches, parents and players!!!

AMEN baseballcrazymom! My kid received several offers from schools he would never have even entertained attending simply on academics. Too many parents are all about being able to say my kid signed. What will they say several years from now when their kid wants to come back home because the school is not what he expected?

true but you also have limited money and have to know where its all going

Agreed. And now a days things have turned into every parent wanting their kid to play in college regardless of educational opportunities. Why go to a crappy school just so daddy can say his kid plays in college?

It was a viable and well run league until everyone had to have their kid play "travel ball". They lost out to the watered down, money wasted lower tier travel ball tournaments so mom and dad can tell their friends their kid plays on a travel team.

Well....
I checked the league website today and only 10u made.
Just curious what happened, where did all the teams from previous years go, this used to be a viable league.

We leave that up to the coaches in the age group in question

The LBL usually has a January deadline we tried to move that up this year for scheduling purposes. LBL is going to extend the deadline to sometime in January. Also the first year the LBL was trying to do all online without having coaches come in to turn their items in. Don't give up on it with anything change sometimes takes time.
