Just curious 5 Tool, I enjoy and see your posts, and have looked at your website. Just curious what your background is? Do you coach a team. Couldn't find anything on your website about instructors? Was just wondering.
Thanks for asking the question 15U. We played against a Five Tool team in a tourney a few weeks back and that was all I knew about them.
I too Love these posts! Keep them coming 5 Tool! This one is especially good as my son is a Catcher and has been Really good and really bad. I remember him taking a step and being so late on a throw to second he had no chance of throwing the base runner out. He was informed that he had no time to take that step...up and throw! He has worked a lot on his footwork so it made no sense why he took a step like a Center fielder Same inning a batter or two later, he got another chance. I dont know what his "Pop Time" was, but I've never seen him get up and make such a strong throw to second, so fast! As soon as the ball left his hand, someone shouted "LIKE THAT!"
IKNEW the runner was a dead duck........doing that consistently is the goal. 5 Tools, you make a Great point about what the foundation to great Pop Times is........how you build it from the bottom up so to speak.
Please keep them coming 5 Tools! I love this stuff!
Hey Bfriendly - continue to be patient with your young backstop. They do get better. It's a very thankless position, especially when you can hear every comment from the crowd.
I don't have a travel team. I'm sure that was another group. Keep us posted on your son's progress!
Here is the confusion. http://www.5toolsportstraining.com/
You are being linked with that club because of your handle. |

Hi 15U. Thank you for the comment. I'm a full-time major league scout. I've been a scout for nineteen years. I've had a chance to help out with a few travel ball teams this off-season (ages 8-12) and I really enjoyed being able to work with the younger age groups. There were a few topics that I wanted to address with the parents and the players and a good friend of mine suggested a travel ball forum.
As you see, I like to write. I'm filling up my off-season with family time and forum posts. I'll answer questions or jump on interesting threads.
See you in the Forum 15U! |
