Posted - 05/18/2009 : 22:18:41 gdad... If you go to the park at one time and go to another their is a stamp you get when you pay... It is good all day at both parks. I have read these about paying at one park and then at another.. If their is a triple crown I have had a game at cherokee reds and then at east cobb. My cherokee reds stamp works at east cobb. I haven't had a problem. I have been doing this for 4 years now.. do not like paying for my daughter who is 7. I don't think I should pay for her to come in. Due to she doesn't watch the game only thing she does is play with other kids who are their also. |

I totally understand your concerns with our gate fees. Last night at Adcock Field, there was a $7 gate fee charged for adults and $5 for kids. This is $2 more than usual. That $2 was made into a $2 ticket to be used at their concession stand for any purchase. Any one individual could have gotten drinks, hot dogs, or candy. This will be changed back to $5 like normal the rest of the weekend. I was made aware of this late last night when we had parents in an uproar. I was not aware what was happening and I apologize to everyone for this taking place.
However, after speaking with Steve Adcock, I totally understood where he is coming from when he decided that this would be the logical choice. I have posted on my website and all of the parks have posted at their facilities that NO OUTSIDE COOLERS OR FOOD IS ALLOWED anywhere! People seem to ignore this very important rule and continue to act like it never exists! We play at PREMIER FACILITIES and it takes a lot of time, money, and effort just to keep them afloat and running. Triple Crown does not take in one cent from these gate fees! The facilities themselves earn money by taking in the gate fees and relying on the concession stand so that you have nice parks to play at every weekend. So when parents, coaches or fans bring in a nice BIG COOLER for their refreshments and mix in some fast food from TACO BELL, the facilties and their people suffer. Then the facilities have no other choice, but to increase their prices. It then becomes a trickle down effect and your prices increase too. All I am saying is think about the places that supply the nice field your son is playing on. There are very rarely ANY BAD HOPS! Which means no trips to the hospital to replace his teeth on a ground ball or a broken ankle because he fell in a hole in the outfield. You can always go to other parts of the state and find these type of facilities. Just recognize and appreciate what you have every time you play Triple Crown Tournaments. I have yet to meet one team from out of town that has not told me about the WOW FACTOR at playing in Northern Metro Atlanta Area! Let us all continue to support these facilities and do our job so that your grandkids and future generations can one day enjoy the same fruits of labor that your kids are taking in these days!
Thank you for understanding!

Tony,
Thanks for taking the time to reply. Man, I wish you would adopt a point system to rank teams within Triple Crown because you would absolutely put U---A right out of business here in the Metro area. We all appreciate your willingness to give the masses what they want...find some youth baseball Jeff Sagarin and have him develop a formula for you!!
Thanks for not ducking and hiding!

Posted - 05/15/2009 : 12:39:04 Hey guys: Let's not fuss too much as this extra money is what Coach Adcock plans on installing the dome over the field so we have no more rain outs. You go Coach Steve and anyone that doesn't want the hot dog, Papa will eat it. |

Posted - 05/15/2009 : 12:16:36 I am very understanding of the desire of the parks for wanting the players and their families to use the conessions stands. But when the teams are there all daying playing multiple games and the only options available are candy, nachos and hotdogs (sometimes boiled) then you really can't blame the parents for bringing sandwiches, fruits, cheese, etc. Now Taco Bell, well.....I guess they were hoping for a little bit of extra "fire" behind the boys to move them... |

I thought if you paid at ECB in the morning and then played another game at a different venue later that same day, you didn't have to pay again. And vice versa.
That's the way it has worked with Barnett Park in the past. |

Posted - 05/15/2009 : 06:53:03 Doesn't sound right to me. If one park is charging one price all parks should be the same. Also why do I have to pay at one park then my next game is at ECB, why do I have to pay again to enter? |

Posted - 05/15/2009 : 06:40:56 I would like to know the same thing. We were handed a coupon for a "free" hot dog or drink. I would have rather kept my $2 than be force-fed a hot dog. I made sure to stay away from that concession stand because of this marketing ploy. Tony...if this venue can't stick to the TC gate price, then my suggestion is that you find another place to play. The Holly Springs Express has a beautiful facility right across the street from Adcock's. |
