Posted - 04/29/2009 : 12:59:12 We have always pulled ours out to play. Problem is that they schedule for the earliest game and the locals don't play till later or not until Saturday. Home cookin' I say. |

Posted - 04/28/2009 : 22:39:37 As long as the grades are there - whats it matter? With our boys its simple - good grades are rewarded w/ extracurricular activities including week long hunting trips out west, baseball tournaments, etc. Cool thing is the Principal writes them off as educational as long as my child comes back and reports to his classes about what he learned about the area we visited. |

Posted - 04/25/2009 : 09:32:08 My kid is already coming down with something....I would say by Thursday he will be feeling quite ill....but I am sure he will be fine by Friday afternoon...the baseball diamong has some amazing medicinal qualities....actually we have missed some school for big tourneys....we are very careful about any other events keeping him away from school....our Head Master is very cool about life lessons and supports our baseball activities very much.... |

Posted - 04/24/2009 : 23:33:41 My wife was concerned about it as well as we will have several conflicts, she spoke with the principal of our school as she did not want our child to miss school and I of course thought otherwise, THE PRINCIPAL ACTUALLY ENCOURAGED MISSING SCHOOL FOR EXTERCURRICULAR ACTIVITIES as long as it wasn't excessive. He likes the students being well rounded. It made my life much simpler, trust me. The key is not to have a lot of sick days throughout the year if possible and save them for baseball. |

Posted - 04/24/2009 : 14:51:04 C.Morton - you will see an epidemic emerge as you continue up through the age groups in travel ball of what we have comonly referred to as the "Baseball Flu". It is nasty and hits without warning. More and more out of town tourneys will force you to make a decision and they usually require missed school to staff your team on friday eve. |
