Posted - 10/03/2015 : 17:27:22 I know all youth tournaments are different but share with us your thoughts on the best amount of time between games.
Is a 30 to 45 minute break is OK? Is it dependent on the weather, heat? Should it vary from event to event? Thoughts? Thanks! |

Posted - 10/05/2015 : 09:43:35 Well of course it's going to vary from event to event....if you only have 2 fields you are limited in what you can do. I would say the greatest amount in between games would be one other game. So, if you play at 12pm until 2pm, your next game should be no later than 4pm. I truly dislike it when the first pool play game is at 9am, the second is at 4pm, and then you have to come back for bracket play the next day at 9am. However, the worst is 9am, 4pm, and then your bracket play is Saturday night at 6pm or 8pm...that is just too much for the kids. |

Posted - 10/04/2015 : 13:44:36 I think pool play games, should have a 15 break between each games. Time for team to discuss and work out plan for next game. Re-hydrate.
Pool plays should also be back to back, with no more than 2 games at a time. Then a two hour break, for another two games (if necessary) Making it 4 games per day max. |
