Thanks for the Storm warning. We're glad to have another crack at you.
Our uniforms now include yellow rain coats and golashes. So far, the teams in this one are not as strong as last weekend. Stop over and say hello. I usually keep the score book so can be found right behind home plate.

The rules are on the USSSA re-classification report found on the GA USSSA web site. After they tell you what 10U class you are, you must play 6 games as that class before you can appeal.

We finished 2nd in 9AA States, so USSSA pushed us up to AAA. Then, in February, 3 of our best players (all pitchers) moved up, 2 to East Cobb, 1 to the Grip. We gave AAA a try w/o them, but went 3-5.

Most teams who appeal have had issues like ours where they've lost players. I think its a good system to be able to drop down when things don't go as planned.

Bmoser, you are right about that matchup (Ga Warriors vs Scorchers). I saw them play each other in a tournament about a month ago and it was a great game (Scorchers won by 1). I find it hard to beleive that some of these teams are AA. When and how are teams re-assigned? I heard May 1, but wasnt sure exactly how.

Fun tourney with 5 closely matched teams. I think I'll quit trying to pick winners in tourneys like this. Any one of the five could have won it. Just had to bring your "A" game. I loved the pitchers duel we had going with you guys (Dobbs Creek vs. Op Storm last pool game). 2-2 after 5. OP Storms change-up artist versus the DC Warriors lefty a.k.a. "Moser The Closer".

Loved the OP Storms T-shirts...on the front they said "Storm Warning" then on the back "Those in the path of the Storm better take cover"
We should have heeded the warning! The Storm blew us away in the 6th.

Nice meeting one of the Storms' Mom's. I was impressed with all 3 teams we played. Sure didn't look like AA ball to me. Maybe we should have called it the Sandbagger Classic!

I'd have loved to see the AA winner play the AAA winner. Scorchers vs the GA Warriors.

bmoser.... your thoughts, sorry I missed meeting you - I heard our team mom found you behind the book. We played well on Sat but seemed to have left our bats home on Sunday, we left shortly after you.

usssa split the group into AA and AAA. too bad. Elite Gamers Red win AAA, and Dobb's Creek takes AA.

Looks like Clermont A's are playing in Cumming instead, and the GA Warriors and OP Storm jumped in. I dont think OP Storm is paid yet since they do not show up on the usssa site as in it yet, just the Pop Up tourney web site.

Its fun when there are so many closely matched teams like this. Sure, some are better than others, but the overall range is tighter than any other tourney I've seen so far this season.

I'd watch out for the GA Redbirds they are a strong AA team and seem to get better each tournament. The Redbirds have made it to the championship game in Monroe Battle of the Bats and the South Gwinnett Shootout. They also came in 3rd at the Mill Creek shootout beating the Elite Gamers Red and losing to the eventual winner Mill Creek Red by only 8-5.

All of them. Some more recently than others.

Look for a lot of close games. If your not a very high AA team or better, this one may not be for you.

Any info beyond that will cost you :)

This group is closely bunched. Any one of them can beat the other depending upon who's pitching, and who finds the holes. My guess:

1) Elite Gamers Red
2) GA Redbirds
3) Dobbs Creek Warriors
4) GA Scorchers
5) OP Storm
6) Rockdale Rhino's
7) MC Gold
8) Clermont A's

We'll see Sunday how I did.
