Thanks Dan. I hear so many snide remarks about the team it's hard to keep the joking fun seperated from the true feelings.

The team's objective is not to be the popular team on the message board and have everyone talk about us. If we don't get mentioned on here again that will be fine, because contrary to popular belief what people think about you does not translate to the field.

It is sad, however, that someone from one team (go yard with the Stallions) can't say something positive about another team without it being labeled as a promo.

If that is the case, my comment "The Stallions and Bulldog Baseball had good weekends as well. " was a promo for the Stallions and Bulldog Baseball. Which must mean that Bulldog Baseball has some hidden connection to East Cobb because there is no way anyone from East Cobb would promo a non-EC team.

Geez give me a break....

Hey its all in good fun , Greg.

No offense intended to anyone.

Best of luck !

Toprank,
They were a good team, battled and were not afraid to come back when behind. The times I got to see them play the Stallions, they seemed to do a good job of taking the ball the other way and using the entire field. They made a good showing and should be proud of the way their kids played.

couldn't have said it better Greg - was simply saying that I thought those kids did a very good job for their first 60/90 (or their 10th really). I have gotten to know alot of those kids pretty well over the past year/years and it's good to see em playing the game and playing it well. They could be called the Kalamazoo Calamities as far as I care.

TopRank - We played the Sandlot Warriors in the semi game and went 9 full innings. Yes, that is a scrappy team. Bats worked pretty darn well and looked good in the field as well. They were a fun but rather testy opponent :)!! I think Combat woul tell ya the same. They had them in what I thought would result in a win and a grand slammer changed the game.

greglomax My friend is the head coach of the Sandlot Warriors out of SC, how did those guys look to you? I haven't gotten a rundown from him yet? Thanks,

Watch for these two teams to make some noise in the spring:

Southwest Express and the ECB Combat!!!. Both teams were competitive this past weekend in the Fall State tourney at East Cobb
as well as the Bulldogs, Stallions, and Sandlot Warriors.

We were leading 1-0 for most of the game but they came back on us in the end and we lost 6-1. Getting 2nd place was not bad for our first 60/90 tournament. The boys learned a lot which should help them prepare in the off season. Overall it was a great experience.

The Stallions and Bulldog Baseball had good weekends as well. Too bad the Stallions got into a 9 inning game with the Sandlot Warriors and used up a lot of pitching. Made for a tough Championship game against a strong opponent. All in all, with the weather problems early on, it was a good weekend.

im asking are they going to be playing major level 14 year old teams or AAA level teams
goyard Posted - 10/27/2008 : 12:39:29
Hey Greg - weekend was a blast wasn't it! How did your guy's do in the final? Fun weekend of baseball!
greglomax Posted - 10/27/2008 : 10:25:09
ECGUY24,
I am not sure what your last question was.

Mammabee,
I don't think ECGUY24 is one of our parents, just someone questioning a rumor going around.

Each team's approach of how they develop players is different. What is right for one team may not be right for another. I hope each team finds out what the right approach is for themselves and develops their players to their best potential.

i saw a couple of the astro's games what 14u level are they going to play at
mammabee Posted - 10/25/2008 : 23:58:29
is it my wild imagination or was that a lead-in, ecguy?

just cant see how ya improve at the right pace playing on high school fields so why do it except for self amazement?

i want to see the games with Vipers coming up for next year. gotta play those on 80 foot bases like 13 years olds all should do and let see what happens

and the best of luck to all you teams this weekend !

greglomax Posted - 10/24/2008 : 23:16:36
No not all the time. We are in the 13U Battle in the South, will play in the 13U Super NIT, 13U USSSA State and several other 13U tournaments as well. I am sure we will play in several 14U tournaments also, just like the 13U Astros did last year.

It should be fun playing 60/90 tournaments like we are doing this weekend.
