I heard there was talk of putting 2 batting cages where they do the soft toss/warmup area, but it never happened. Someone mentioned the noise of hitting may distract players during the games. I would imagine soft toss makes just as much noise.
Anyone know why they don't have batting cages at ATPP? |

IMO, ATPP is one of the nicest places a kid will every have the pleasure of playing as well as one of the best to coach or watch the game. However, I feel that the level of play is lessened a little because without the pregame swings, the kids just are not as well prepared at the plate. Unless you are the parent of someone who focuses entirely on pitching, this takes away from the game because let's be honest....we all want to see the kids hit the ball. It is frustrating when we play there not to have the cages, but still a place I love to visit. I don't buy into this being a budget issue. Too many ways the money spent could be easily raised. |

I agree , great facility and great place to watch a game but they really need cages. For the number or tournament held their each year (travel ball and rec. allstar in both baseball and fastpitch) and due to them always charging a gate fee, 2 - 3K for cages seems like a no brainer. |

It's an awesome facility that was opened about 3 months too late for my younger son to get to play in anything there but 1 wood bat tournament.

Wow, I posted that over a year ago. Heard recently there will not be any cages, I believe for some of the reasons stated by Touch em all. You can't complain about those fields or that park at all. I did hear a rumor a softball group or team was going to have some cages in the strip mall infront of the park, not sure if they would be willing to rent them out before a game or not. |

They did a great job just to save the fields after the floods of 2009. Dugouts were what about three feet from being totally underwater. We have enjoyed the park since it opened. Cages would be nice. Atleast nets to keep errant baseballs from going on the playing fields during games and since this is a Xmas list (ha ha) - protective netting over the top of where the fans sit in the middle. Hard to see a foul ball coming from behind when you are watching a game on the other field. A great place to watch a game and an even better place to coach one as the layout separates the parents from the kids and coaches. |

Sounds like these cages could have your names on them for sponsoring them. I like the name of the ToppRank cages. Heck that is a good name for a hitting place anyway... |

What would two cages cost 2 or 3K? Just charge another $50.00 bucks per tournament and you would have them paid for in 1 or 2 tournaments. You could tell everyone that is what the extra money is for, then go back down $50.00 on registration after that. I would pay $50.00 more to have access to cages before the game. You are correct !! And we are planning on having them and are definitely looking for a sponsor to help with them. it's a new park and looks very expensive battibg cages might not be in the budget |
