I have a son that will be playing travel ball in the spring. He is 13 and I was wondering what type of bat to get. We were thinking about a Cataylst, EXO, Plasma or a Slealth.

We have used a Stealth before and the pop went away after 10 games. We also tried the Demarini and the Demarini seems like it has unbalence weight.

Not unless you are playing on a feeder team that the coach makes you swing a -3, or if you are playing in a Dizzy Dean or American Legion league.

i think you have to start using -5 at 14 in the 13 year old division i have seen more often than not kids have -8 and -10 it's my personal opinion but if you have a kid use a heavier bat it shows how good their swing really is. my son uses a -3. but he practice with a bat that is 3oz. heavier than the length it' 33/36

Is there a requirement to move to a -3 drop @ 14?

It's all about your preference. If you like stiff handle bats, you will like the EXO or the Plasma, if you like composite bats, you will like the Catalyst or Rawlings Rush Composite. If you like flex handle bats you will like the Stealth. While I can give you my opinion on which I prefer, the important thing is for you to get the one that your son likes.

What has he typically used before?
