When entering a tournament, do you check out the rules and time limits ?
Some tournaments are cheaper than others, but do you get enough time to play 3 innings ?

I too found a 9U, 10U, 11U and 12U tournament that is advertising 65 minute time limits this weekend. They have a ton of teams, but there is no way the teams can be ok playing 65 minutes especially at 11U and 12U. They are advertising the entry fee at $150, so I guess you get what you pay for. I have found most teams prefer an 80 minute (1hr. 20min.) time limit due to lack of pitching.

Some independents have game time limits (1:20) ages 9-12 , that's about 4 innings unless both teams score every inning then 3 innings on a high scoring game.
Found one that is (1:05) for 9-12 ?? Now your looking at 3 to 4 innings, but if one team has a big inning 2-3 innings ??
Might as well have a shootout.
One thing about it though, you can be home early to cut grass.

It's pretty much standard for PG and TC to be 1:45 for the younger ages and up from there... USSSA is 1:30 for the lil guys and up from there... Independent tournaments, all bets are all.

But yes, reading the rules to make sure they are 'standard' or if they have anything crazy in them is a must... Not to mention knowing the pitching rules (innings allowed, is a pitch an inning, or is it recorded per out?)
