Posted - 08/04/2014 : 18:56:42 Has anyone had any experience/success with this service? A few of my players signed up for it when doing a triple crown tourney and have gotten multiple "a coach has found u" emails.
Of course, they want you to pay so you can see which coaches have looked at you.
Just asking to see if anyone has used or encountered this service before.
Thanks |

if your kid is at the age where recruiting is on the horizon, i suggest www.recruitmenow.org
a local guy (georgia) owns it and it has a database where you can send 20 emails per template to coaches across the country. it is $49 annually and allows you to build a profile and load 6 youtube videos, stats, a bio, and awards etc.
when a coach responds to your "link" that is to your profile (it will be sent in all emails" recruitmenow logs that IP address and matches it to the school/coach and you can see how many times a coach visits and how many pages or views they look at.
good, not too expensive and a great tool. I used it and while PG tournaments, showcases and college visits/camps area also necessary....it is a great way to establish contact with coaches etc. My son just committed to play baseball at a D1 ACC school and i would recommend Recuitmenow.org
CM What age did you start using recruitmenow? Freshman, Sophomore, Junior? Any tips? Did you just focus on ACC and or SEC or did you also look at small D1 schools like Mercer, Samford etc..

Posted - 08/08/2014 : 11:01:52 CaptainU is decent for the investment of only $20/month. Helps keep your athlete organized and focused on the next step. My concern is that it attracts mostly small schools outside of the Southeast; schools your kid has never heard of. At an SEC big-time program camp last year, I asked the head coach if they used CaptainU, and he said he had never heard of it. "Saw your profile in a search" means nothing. "Viewed your profile" means your getting some traction.
There is NO MAGIC PILL or TRICK to recruiting. It takes hustle on your kid's part. They have to call, not just email, coaches. They have to promote themselves. Do not rely just on coaches or a website or a recruiting service. With rare exceptions, it comes down to your athlete calling coaches where they want to play, then following up with updates and video of their skill set, then being seen live at camps or tournaments. |

Posted - 08/05/2014 : 10:11:22 "A Coach has found you" means that you came up in a search. That is different than "A Coach has viewed your profile." I'm not sure how many of the coaches use this service over PG, but the website does offer some very good advice on how to go about your search |
