I have searched the topic of college camps and showcases but I have a more specific question. Does anyone have any experience attending a camp/showcase put on by Top 96. Apparently they are a 3rd party service that puts on events all across the country and run the events through local colleges. At each event they list a group of coaches that are paid to be there running the event and evaluating the players. If you have attended one of these how to they compare to a camp/showcase run by a college for their program only. Just trying to get the best bang for our buck .....

Went to one not too long ago with rising junior. Aside from PG Showcase and a smaller one this was our first example of a 3rd party run showcase. Was impressed with how well it was run. The coaches that were advertised were there. They gave every kid the opportunity they paid for - regardless of the time. At the end, each player left with a written evaluation and one on one time with one of the college coaches. The coach in charge of the event was very approachable. We've already had follow up from several of the coaches there. The parents had a "recruiting" talk and the coach in charge gave valuable information and allowed time for a Q and A session. Overall felt it was a good value. Player said he would absolutely do another one.
