Wow! I'm glad my boys are past that age. I can't imagine paying that kind of money for baseball - even for a whole year. I'm too busy now paying that for my daughter's gymnastics! Haha.

There are organizations charging between 3500 and $3600 per player in the 13,14 and 15-year-old age groups and this does not include any private instruction! Peanut as for the expense of taking care of a field it does not warrant a $3600 per player cost to maintain.

I recently heard about $3500 (Cooperstown year) fees but also charging for individual lessons. Hey, I don't knock anyone for making a living but I would think that $3500 would get me a whole year's worth of instruction. :-)

Didn't realize that there was no expense involved with owning your own fields.

Must've struck a nerve with All-Star, you can have the fanciest uniforms you want but if players are paying $3600 to play..... Let's just say I too am happy to see teams that don't have outrageous fees winning!!!! Uniforms don't cost that much, neither does field time!! Plus most of the teams that are charging these fees have their own fields!!!

Well, I'm not the one using multiple exclamation points, so not really. I also never spent anywhere close to $3600 for a season, even Cooperstown. Everybody worries too much about what other people are doing if you ask me.

Agreed, but it is their money.

Haters gonna hate.

No idea what or whom you're talking about, but winning isn't always the whole point. Could be those fees are getting them field time, good, individualized training, a great schedule, or maybe just nice unis. Different teams (and parents) have different priorities.

Also, it's early in the season so maybe they took a loss to try some things out. A different lineup, getting some pitchers some innings. Taking the hit so that they are ready for the important tournaments in June/July.

We'll never know from this thread, but congrats on the win(s).

I love it. Ive coached and managed a team for 6 years now and I love competing and beating teams that have extremely high fees. its all about the ballplayers and the coaching.
