Someone correct me if I am jumping the gun but it appears that Perfect Game has announced their 2014 schedule and the majority of the Georgia Tournaments have the new LakePointe Parks listed as the main venue. Let's be civil but how does everyone see this affecting East Cobb and then again how many of you think that Lakepointe will even be ready this Summer. I sure hope it is as it will save us a ton of money by not having to travel 3 times to Fort Myers, Florida. If Lakepointe is ready by the summer could I get a big "Heck Yeah"

Heck yeh!!!!
We moved up to 14U this year and my biggest disappointment is we no longer get to see many of the other teams play because we are usually on high school fields scattered all over. Maybe this venue will allow the older age groups a chance to see other players and teams play like we could in the younger age groups.

The truth is that there are generally so many teams in the Perfect Game Tournaments that most of the games were actually played at Local High School Fields and not East Cobb anyway. If you didn't play for East Cobb about the only way you could play at East Cobb was to get near the end of the brackets. I think that having this one really "Central Location" with so many more fields will be a blast and an opportunity to see and share so much more quality baseball with each other. When they get all of the fields built and by having the East Cobb fields so close for overflow we should all have to travel less and that gives us all more time to play some baseball.

Some teams playing games at LakePointe does not preclude other teams from playing games at East Cobb. I see it more as a opportunity for teams to get more games in because there are more fields. Perhaps there will be fewer games played at local HS.

A definite "Heck Yeah" from a dad with two sons who will be playing Perfect Game tournaments next summer and who happens to live 15 miles from LakePointe. I drive by the site every day and can testify that they're gettin er dun. They're working around the clock and I hear the grading is ahead of schedule so hopefully we'll have some games there next summer. Nothing against East Cobb but I'll take a 20 minute ride to games over a 45-50 minute ride any day of the week.

I was asking myself the same question when I saw that schedule
