Posted - 05/07/2013 : 11:53:01 Gotta say either the Rawlings Machine (2012) or Rawlings Velo (2013). I'm not a Rawlings rep, and before this year, my 17U player loved the Rip-It. But when they changed the design from the original red to the white Rip-It, something changed (besides the paint job). Before the season started, my kid tried several of the "known" bats (Demarini Voodoo, S1, Rip-It, 5150, Velo and Machine). Out of all those, the Machine got his (and his hitting instructor's) nod. The only problem is, the Machine is kind of hard to find since its not being made anymore. Went on-line and located 2 and picked them both up.
If the Machine is not available, the Velo is a killer bat too. Go to the PG website and watch Clint Frazier in the Homerun Derby...going yard with the Velo.
Not a big fan of the S1. If you square it up, yeah the ball goes a long way (same with any bat)..but miss it (just a little) and it "thuds" like a wood bat. |

Posted - 05/06/2013 : 22:04:23 Easton S1, hands down... Itll cost you, but the swing weight is super light and the ball flies off of it. |
