Wondering if any rule changings forecoming regarding the use of a 2 piece catchers mask and skull cap? Talked to a salesperson recently that said that USSSA wsd going to have a change coming in 2013, okay for 13u and older now but may not be for much longer.
 What about TC tournaments? Am pretty sure that high school requires the hockey style mask but have a few years before HS ball. Any information would be greatly appreicated.

Per NFHS equipment rules, catchers mask MUST have dual ear flaps. Two piece skull cap and mask is not illegal under NFHS rules.

2 piece catchers’ helmets will not be allowed in Alabama events for ages 12U and below. Hockey style or one piece catcher’s helmets are fine to use as long as they cover the ears.

I am not sure but Ouch! they look cool but when they take a foul ball off one of those it hurts a lot more than a hockey style mask. |
