My son had a pitching coach but the coach had a stroke does anyone have any recommendations for a good pitching coach..thanks |

Definitely Chris Cumberland at Strike One Sports. We have a 15 year old lefty who has worked with Chris since he was 11. Chris not only taught him his move to first at 11 years old but also made him wait to 14 to teach him the proper way to throw a curve ball. Chris has always stressed good mechanics and technique. He has a wealth of practical knowledge and professional experience and connects well with his students. Each week, we drive over an hour each way for a half hour lesson with Chris! |

The Georgia Sports Center in Loganville has several qualified pitching instructors. One I would recommend is Casey Shivers. He currently plays for the Texas Rangers organization and is offering private instruction for the off season at Georgia Sports Center. |

IMO, Gene Ross at Georgia Pitching Academy in Dallas. My son had a shoulder injury and not only did Gene take the time to go with him to a throwing specialist/physical therapist, he recommended Tom House's velocity program. He is half way through the rehab/velocity program. My son was able to start throwing again with no pain in three weeks. Half way through the 10 week program his velocity increased 5 mph, which is a by product of the program even though our goal was to get him healthy again. Gene relates with kids. I have had two boys in travel for years and have paid for tons of pitching lessons over the years with many different instructors. From personal experience, hands down, he is the best I've seen. He really cares about the kids and teaches great mechanics/timing and actually has a plan for developing your child to reach his fullest potential. I know I sound like a ad for Gene, however he really saved my boy after being missed diagnosed by two different orthopedic doctors. My boys and I drive an hour each way to get to Gene, that's how much we trust him and his pitching philosophy. |

When I saw post about pitching coach, John Devore was the first person that came to mind.
Justin Edwards would be up there as well.

Agree with ya Mike regarding John. He truly is a gem. Every session my son went to with John he would come away with some nugget of info that he can take with him on the mound. Super super guy with an immense amount of pitching knowledge.
One of my sons former coaches pitched @ Tech & the Braves organization, and he is fantastic with pitching instruction. Was like getting a pitching lesson during weekly bullpen sessions @ practice. First time we tried out John he complimented my son on his mechanics, and asked who he worked with previously. When my son told him, John got a BIG belly laugh and said.... I gave him pitching lessons 25 years ago when he was in high school!

I'm crushed and saddened by the news about John. He has been one of the good guys around baseball for a very long time! He is still with us I hear. Prayers for him and his family! |

Well, I don't know Scott Clackum.....at all. Never met him. But I saw the Tigers play in the championship game at East Cobb last weekend. My son and I were there because his team never made it to Sunday. Just watching.
The pitcher was the most relaxed guy I have seen pitch.
I think we will look Scott up! |

Georgia Sports Center has a couple good guys... Steven Argo does a great job with pitchers. |

Very sad to hear about John. Both my sons have been going to him for years. My oldest has pitched at the elite level for the past 3 years and wouldn't be where he is now without John. He has forgotten more about pitching than I will ever know!
With that said, we have also had lessons with Robbie @ Hitters Park in John's absence. He has a similar pitching philosophy and is great with players of all ages. |

There is a guy named Rick Felt, who works out of Crossroads Baseball Academy. He worked well with my 11 (now 12 year old), but works pretty much all ages. |
